Sabine O'MahonySabine Heuchert O’Mahony is a licensed acupuncturist and National Board certified herbalist in NJ, NY and PA. She received her Master’s degree in Oriental Medicine from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in New York City in 2009. Born and raised in Brazil, Sabine graduated from the University of Veterinary Medicine (UNESP) in Sao Paulo, Brazil, in 1992. It was during her time as a student when she first was introduced to acupuncture while observing a professor perform surgery on a dog under acupuncture analgesia. While going through a PhD program at the Veterinary School of Hannover (TIHO), Germany, Sabine also had the opportunity to study human acupuncture at the Medical School of Hannover. Upon finishing the PhD program in 1996, Sabine returned to Brazil and began introducing acupuncture into her veterinary practice. Seeing the results of acupuncture in their horses, owners started approaching her for personal treatment along with their animals, which sparked her interest further into the benefits of acupuncture on human patients. In 2000, Sabine moved to the United States and established her veterinary acupuncture practice in Hunterdon County, NJ. During this time she also embarked on a 4-year long Masters program in Oriental Medicine to enable her to work with human patients.
